The decline in bunker sales in Vladivostok is slowing down, with DF engine ships being built globally: Bunker Market / Prices Digest

    - The volume of bunker sales in the Port of Vladivostok plummeted by 20% to 240,600 tonnes in January-June 2023 s. At the same time, the number of bunkering operations increased from 1724 to 1872, which indicates a reduction in the average tonnage of ships. We see that the rate of decline in sales volume in Vladivostok is slowing down due to the depreciation of the ruble and the passing of the repair season at refineries.

Meanwhile the construction of ships outfitted with dual-fuel engines continues at global shipyards. Three largest ocean container carriers Maersk, Evergreen and CMA CGM placed orders for 44 container ships.

Maersk announced earlier this week that it has ordered six mid-sized container vessels with Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group. The company said that the six 9,000 TEU vessels will all have dual-fuel engines able to operate on green methanol and fuel oil.

CMA CGM remains dedicated to liquefied natural gas (LNG). French liner company CMA CGM has placed an order for ten 24,000 TEU containerships, which will be LNG dual-fuelled.

CMA CGM continues to focus on LNG in its shipbuilding orders. The Marseille Liner Company has ordered 10 container ships with a capacity of 24,000 TEU each.
