Estonian Ports in September 2006
Estonian ports handled 3.36 million tons of freight in September, which is 2.8 percent more than in the same month last year, RZD-Partner reports. In comparison with August handling of freight declined by almost a fifth. All in all, 2.98 million tons of cargoes were loaded onto ships during the month, compared with 3.19 million tons in September a year ago. The amount of cargo loaded in August was 3.89 million tons. Cargoes unloaded totaled 649,500 tons against 337.600 tons a year earlier. In comparison with August, the volume of unloading grew 17 percent. In the first nine months of the year Estonian ports loaded 32.4 million and unloaded 4.6 million tons of cargoes.
