Rosmorrechflot’s shipbuilding order for coming six years foresees construction of 147 vessels
Shipbuilding order of the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot) for the coming six years foresees the construction of 147 vessels, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Yury Tsvetkov, Deputy Minister of Transport – head of Rosmorrechflot, as saying at the Plenary Session "International Cooperation in Shipbuilding. Focus on Russia" held as part of the 15th International Maritime Exhibition and Conferences of Russia, NEVA 2019.
Yury Tsvetkov explained that the fleet construction and renovation would be conducted under three federal programmes: namely Sea Ports of Russia, Inland Water Ways and Sevmorput (Northern Sea Route). The Sea Ports of Russia programme foresees the construction of nine icebreakers including four shallow-draft ships and one 7MW multifunctional rescue ship. According to the official, the order for construction of the 7MW multifunctional rescue ship has been placed at the Amursky Shipyard with the delivery scheduled for 2021. Designing works have been completed for six icebreakers with a tender held for one of them.
“We expect a contract with Pella shipyard to be signed in the nearest time”, said Yury Tsvetkov.
According to him, designing works for the remaining three icebreakers are nearing completion. The orders for shipbuilding are to be awarded in 2020.
The Inland Water Ways programme foresees the construction of 121 vessels of various types. Nine units have been ordered already with more orders to be placed in 2020, said the official.
When speaking about the Sevmorput programme, Yury Tsvetkov said that it covers the construction of 11 emergency response ships, four emergency response tugboats of Arctic 4 class and four hydrographic ships (buoy tenders). According to Yury Tsvetkov, the latter four ships have already been ordered.
