    Throughput of port Kaliningrad in 8M’18 grew by 6% Y-o-Y to 9.6 million tonnes

    In January-August 2018, the port of Kaliningrad handled 9,608,300 tonnes of cargo, up 6%, year-on-year, says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.

    Transshipment of dry bulk cargo dropped by 23% to 1,570,400 tonnes including 736,400 tonnes of coal (+52%), 6,200 tonnes of mineral fertilizers (up 2.2 times and 818,200 tonnes of other cargoes (-47%).

    Transshipment of dry loose cargo grew by 22% to 2,955,900 tonnes, general cargo – by 32% to 1,121,700 tonnes.

    The port also handled 772,800 tonnes of cargo carried by ferries (-21%) and 2.35 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+20%) including 1,462,500 tonnes of oil products (+41%), 374,500 tonnes of crude oil (-17%) and 477,900 tonnes of food cargo (+12%).

    The port’s container throughput grew by 7.3%, year-on-year, to 176,601 TEUs.
