Russia’s General Board of State Expert Review approves yet another phase of project on construction of Zvezda shipyard (photo)
Russia’s General Board of State Expert Review (Glavgosexpertiza) says it has approved yet another phase of the project on construction of Zvezda shipyard. This phase cover the construction of an outfitting quay No1, a cargo handling quay, facilities in the customs control zone within the Bolshoi Kamen PDA and transforming sub-stations.
Having studied the materials, the experts acknowledged the compliance of the project documentation and the findings of the engineering survey with technical regulations and other requirements.
Zvezda Shipyard is set up in Bolshoy Kamen, Primorsky Region. The shipbuilding complex design provides for the construction of a heavy outfitting berth, a dry dock, full-cycle production shops, and shops for the construction of offshore marine facilities. The Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex will produce heavy tonnage ships, elements of offshore platforms, ice-class vessels, special vessels and other marine equipment. The Zvezda is being built by a Consortium of Rosneftegaz, Rosneft and Gazprombank on the basis of the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center. The initial phase of the project was put into operation in 2016.
The outfitting quay No1 will be 402.55 meters long. It is intended for outfitting of floated out vessels. The adjoining cargo handling quay of 250.11 meters in length is intended for transshipment of materials and equipment delivered by water. The facilities of the customs control zone will comprise a cargo storage warehouse, an open yard for containers and a check point building as well as the perimeter fencing.
The plots of land under this phase covering 6.45 hectares will also have roads and sidewalks to ensure approaches from the existing highways.

In January 2018, Glavgosexpertiza issued a positive assurance based on engineering survey results and design documentation for the new phases of the ZVEZDA shipbuilding cluster construction project: rebuilding of a deep-water pier, Shallow and Southern embankments on the shipyard territory being built in Bolshoi Kamen.
