Container throughput of port Hong Kong (China) down 5.9% to 15.9 mln TEUs in 10M’16
In January-October 2016, port Hong Kong (China) handled 15.9 mln TEUs (-5.9%, year-on-year). According to the port authority, the port’s largest terminal Kwai Tsing handled 12.43 mln TEUs (-5%), other terminals handled 3.47 mln t TEUs (-8.8%).
Port Hong Kong is one of the world’s largest ports. It is capable of handling 456,000 vessels per year. In 2015, the port’s container throughput hit 20.11 mln TEUs.
