The Port of Taganrog is located on the northern coast of the Azov Sea in Taganrog Bay.

Cargo throughput at the Taganrog sea transport hub from January through November 2017 leaped 26.9% year-on-year to 2,708,200 tonnes of various cargo.

In the reporting period export of grain increased by 28.6% to 1,355,500 tonnes, coal exports – by 16.2% to 692,800 tonnes, oil products volume - by 20.1% to 351,100 tonnes, ferrous metals - by 30.7% to 104,400 tonnes.

Eleven-month volume of exports also rose by 15.5% to 1,729,500 tonnes, while imports surged 3.5 times year-on-year to 89,800 tonnes of cargo, coastal trade - by 45.2% to 888,900 tonnes.

In the reporting period the Taganrog port Harbourmaster office granted permits to 751 ship arrivals and 734 departures, including harbour fleet vessels, versus 584 arrivals / 575 departures in 2016.

There are four terminal operators at the Port of Taganrog: Taganrog Commercial Seaport (TMTP), Kurgannefteprodukt LLC, Taganrog Ship Repair Yard (TSRZ) and Priazovye ZAO.

The Rosmporport’s only repair yard in Russia is based in the Port of Taganrog. The dockyard performs repair of Rosmorport’s Azov and Azov-Black Sea branches’ fleet.

The Azov Basin branch of Rosmorport in 2017 successfully completed dredging of the Taganrog access channel. The project contractor excavated 1,3 million m3 of dredged material.
