FESCO performed pilot delivery of grain from Krasnoyarsk to Ningbo by intermodal container service

As part of the project on development of containerized grain shipping, FESCO Transportation Group delivered 500 tonnes of grain from Krasnoyarsk to the Chinese port of Ningbo by the group’s own intermodal service, FESCO says in a press release.

22 containers with grain were first delivered by trucks from Achinsk (Krasnoyarsk Territory) to Krasnoyarsk, then by FESCO Yenisei Shuttle, a regular container train, to Vladivostok, then by regular FCDL service to the port of destination. The transit took 20 days.

As part of the pilot delivery, FESCO specialists performed the full package of related operations including customs clearance obtaining of all documents needed for export shipments.

FESCO started developing containerized grain shipping in summer 2018 having launched grain shipments from Siberia to the Far East by regular trains and coastal lines to the Kamchatka and the Magadan Region. FESCO’s domestic service has carried 4,000 tonnes of grain so far.

FESCO is one of the leading public transportation and logistics companies in Russia with operations in ports, rail, integrated logistics and shipping business. Diversified but integrated asset portfolio enables FESCO to provide door-to-door logistics solutions and control almost all steps of the intermodal transportation value chain. The majority of FESCO’s operations are located in the Russian Far East and the Group benefits from growing trade volumes between Russia and Asian countries.

FESCO is the leader of container transportation through the Russian Far East via international sea container lines to/from Asian countries, domestic sea container lines and by rail. FESCO is the leading port container operator in the Far East region.

FESCO controls the Commercial Port of Vladivostok which has throughput capacity of 5 million tons of general cargo and oil products, 150,000 vehicles and over 600,000 TEU of containers.

FESCO is among the 10 largest Russian private rail operators, providing services under «Transgarant» (100% subsidiary of FESCO) and «Russkaya Troyka» (75% minus one share) brands. FESCO operates a fleet of 14 thousand units of rolling stock, including 5 thousand container platforms, and 40 thousand containers as well.

FESCO has a fleet of 20 vessels, mostly deployed through own sea service lines.
