    Throughput of Russian seaports in 9M’18 grew by 4% Y-o-Y to 604.2 million tonnes (detalization)

    In January-September 2018, seaports of Russia handled 604.2 million tonnes of cargo (up 4%, year-on-year), says press center of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports.

    Transshipment of dry cargo totaled 292.8 million tonnes (+7.3%) including 121.9 million tonnes of coal (+5.4%), 42.7 million tonnes of grain (+36.2%), 39.7 million tonnes of containerized cargo (+11.9%), 22.6 million tonnes of ferrous metal (+8.5%), 13.3 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers (+2.9%), 4.1 million tonnes of timber (+6.0%), 3.2 million tonnes of metal scrap (+13.6%) and 2.8 million tonnes of ferrous metal (+2.6%).

    Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled  311.4 million tonnes (+1.1%) including 182.6 million tonnes of crude oil (-3.1%), 109.0 million tonnes of oil products (+2.9%) and 15.9 million tonnes of liquefied gas (up 1.5 times).

    Exports totaled 464.4 million tonnes (+3.7%), imports - 27.5 million tonnes (+3.2%), transit – 47.1 million tonnes (+9.7%), short-sea traffic - 65.2 million tonnes (+2.6%).

    Operators of seaports in the Arctic Basin handled 62.5 million tonnes (+15.0%, year-on-year) including 22.5 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+3.8%) and 39.9 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+22.5%). The port of Murmansk handled 40.8 million tonnes (+7.5%), Arkhangelsk - 2.2 million tonnes (+20.5%), Kandalaksha - 1.5 million tonnes (+39.8%).

    Operators of seaports in the Baltic Sea Basin handled 182.3 million tonnes (-1.1%) including 100.9 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (-6.1%) and 81.3 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+5.8%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 72.4 million tonnes (-4.8%), Primorsk - 39.8 million tonnes -10.9%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 44.2 million tonnes (+12.0%), Vysotsk - 13.7 million tonnes (+6.1%), Kaliningrad - 10.8 million tonnes (+6.2%), Vyborg - 1.3 million tonnes (+21.9%).

    Operators of seaports in the Black Sea Basin handled 205.5 million tonnes (+5.2%) including 91.7 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+9.4%) and 113.8 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+2.0%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 115.5 million tonnes (+7.5%), Rostov-on-Don - 12.7 million tonnes (+22.5%), Azov - 8.2 million tonnes (up 1.6 times), Yeisk - 3.4 million tonnes (+4.5%), Temryuk - 2.7 million tonnes (+31.4%), Taganrog - 2.3 million tonnes (+12.3%), Kavkaz - 24.1 million tonnes (-5.6%), tuapse - 18.6 million tonnes (-7.0%), Taman - 10.2 million tonnes (-7.2%), Kerch - 6.3 million tonnes (-9.2%).

    Operators of seaports in the Caspian Basin handled 3.6 million tonnes (+28.8%) including 2.0 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+1.8%) and 1.6 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (up 1.9 times).  The port of Makhachkala handled 1.8 million tonnes (up 1.9 times), Olya - 313.100 tonnes (up 1.8 times), Astrakhan - 1.4 million tonnes (-13.3%).

    Operators of seaports in the Far East Basin handled 150.5 million tonnes (+4.4%) including 95.3 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+7.5%) and 55.2 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (-0.6%). Port Vostochny handled 52.3 million tonnes (+1.4%), Nakhodka - 18.3 million tonnes (+0.7%), Vladivostok - 15.6 million tonnes (+24.6%), De-Kastri - 9.1 million tonnes (+6.5%), Shakhtersk - 7.0 million tonnes (+34.3%), Korsakov - 1.3 million tonnes (+2.3%), Olga - 1.3 million tonnes (+12.2%), Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky - 1.2 million tonnes (+16.7%), Vanino - 22.0 million tonnes (-0.6%), Prigorodnoye - 12.5 million tonnes (-1.8%), Posiet - 5.5 million tonnes (-3.8%).

    Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports. forwarding and agency companies. scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
