    Throughput of Russian seaports in 5M’18 grew by 2.7% Y-o-Y to 328.4 million tonnes (detalization)

    In January-May 2018, seaports of Russia handled 328.4 million tonnes of cargo (up 2.7%, year-on-year), says press center of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports.

    Transshipment of dry cargo totaled 156,4 million tonnes (+9.1%) including 63.7 million tonnes of coal (+3.6%), 21.9 million tonnes of containerized cargo (+12.5%), 21.9 million tonnes of grain (up 1.5 times), 13.3 million tonnes of ferrous metal (+7.7%), 7.7 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers (+10.0%), 2.9 million tonnes of ore (+5.9%), 2.3 million tonnes of timber (+9.6%).

    Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 172.1 million tonnes (-2.5%) including 100.9 million tonnes of crude oil (-6.8%), 60.2 million tonnes of oil products (+0.3%) and 8.7 million tonnes of liquefied gas (+37.4%). 

    Exports totaled 254.7 million tonnes (+1.1%), imports - 15.2 million tonnes (+6.9%), transit - 26.7 million tonnes (+12.7%), coastal trade cargo - 31.9 million tonnes (+1.0%).

    Operators of seaports in the Arctic Basin handled 32.0 million tonnes (+9.0%, year-on-year) including 20.4 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+12.7%) and 11.6 million tonnes of dry cargo (+3.2%). The port of Murmansk handled 21.8 million tonnes (+3.5%), Arkhangelsk - 1.2 million tonnes (+25.7%). 

    Operators of seaports in the Baltic Basin handled 103.0 million tonnes (-1.5%) including 57.9 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (-9.1%) and 45.1 million tonnes of dry cargo (+10.4%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 41.5 million tonnes (-1.4%), Primorsk - 22.6 million tonnes (-17.6%), Vysotsk - 7.5 million tonnes (-3.1%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 24.7 million tonnes (+15.6%), Kaliningrad - 6.1 million tonnes (+11.7%), Vyborg - 0.6 million tonnes (+21.8%).

    Operators of seaports in the Azov-Black Sea Basin handled  110.9 million tonnes (+6.5%) including 48.8 million tonnes of dry cargo (+16.1%) and 62.1 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (-0.1%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 65.4 million tonnes (+7.1%), Rostov-on-Don - 6.6 million tonnes (+32.7%), Taganrog - 1.3 million tonnes (+31.2%), Tuapse - 11.2 million tonnes (-0.7%), Kavkaz - 10.0 million tonnes (-0.2%), Taman - 5.4 million tonnes (-17.0%), Kerch - 3.3 million tonnes (-8.7%).

    Operators of seaports in the Caspian Basin handled 2.1 million tonnes грузов (+47.3%) including 1.2 million tonnes of dry cargo (+13.0%) and 0.9 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (up 2.4 times).  The port of Makhachkala handled 1.1 million tonnes (up 2.7 times), Olya – 131,600 tonnes (up 2 times), Astrakhan - 0.8 million tonnes (-10.8%). 

    Operators of seaports in the Far East Basin handled 80.5 million tonnes (+0.2%) including 49.7 million tonnes of dry cargo (+3.3%) and 30.8 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (-4.4%). The port of Vladivostok handled 8.2 million tonnes (+21.0%), Prigorodnoye - 7.8 million tonnes (+1.1%), Olga - 0.7 million tonnes (+8.5%), Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky - 0.7 million tonnes (+35.2%), Vostochny - 28.8 million tonnes (-2.3%), Vanino - 12.4 million tonnes (-0.7%), Nakhodka - 10.1 million tonnes (-3.1%), De-Kastri - 4.7 million tonnes (-7.4%), Posiet - 3.0 million tonnes (-9.4%).

    Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
